Training Standards

It is very difficult to try and categorise a dogs training standard. However in order to try and give you some idea of what we have for sale and for you to understand what you want from your dog we have layed out the following training standards.

LEVEL 3 PART TRAINED

The dogs’ training has now proceeded to a stage where it will do all that of a Basic trained dog and

Sit to a whistle command as well as the verbal.
Heelwork has progressed to a stage where it will walk to heel off a lead.
Steady to a marked retrieve e.g. sits while you throw the retrieve and only retrieve it on command.
The basic hand signals and commands have been started e.g. those of back and get out for left and right with the cast of a hand.

At this level the gundogs are trained to retrieve a dummy from approx 50 yards in bracken. This is undertaken over the course of 2 weeks or until the gundog has mastered this level.
